These magnets are incredibly strong and never fail to impress. These magnets go through rigorous four-time coating process that prevents signs of corrosion. The magnets are coated in four layers of Nickel, Copper and Boron to enhance the lifespan of the magnet and the coating also provides a smooth finish. These magnets are commonly used in industries like engineering, manufacturing and packaging for their incredibly strong magnetic properties. The magnets are also commonly used as shock absorbers by repelling the magnets against each other.  Neodymium magnets are not toys and should be kept away from children at all times. Magnets have the ability to trap fingers and pinch the skin and so should be kept out of the reach of children.

The pull force provided on this listing is measured from the magnets optimal condition. This involves a backing steel plate made of low carbon steel with a smooth surface. The conditions have been carried out at room temperature with the force acting perpendicularly. Any advertised pull force is accurate at optimal conditions and factors including material, surface, angle of pull and temperature can affect the pulling force.

When measuring the pull of magnets after purchase buyers should consider the following factors which can affect the magnets:

  • Air Gap (distance between the object and the magnet)
  • Material (The material which the object is made from)
  • The direction of the detaching force
  • The thickness of the material
  • Working temperature

Deliveries within the UK

We dispatch all completed orders received before 16:00 on the same day (Mon – Fri) and items are sent via Royal Mail second class. If you would like to upgrade your item to first class you will find this option at the checkout stage of your purchase. Undelivered Packages

A package may be undelivered due to several reasons:

  • The address provided may be incorrect – please double-check the details when placing your order.
  • Several failed delivery attempts – our couriers will usually make more than one attempt to deliver your package (larger items), after that the package will be send to your local depot. You will be notified by the courier of the location. If you are expecting a parcel please ensure you have contacted your local depot to check that the item is not waiting there.
  • Local depot – if after several days you have not picked up your package or notified your local depot, your package will be sent back to us. If this happens you will be required to pay a re-delivery fee of up to £2.90, if at this point you would like a refund you will have £2.90 deducted from your refund for postage and packaging costs.
  • Damaged in transit – our couriers will not attempt to deliver a damaged package, it will be sent right back to us. We will notify you and send out a replacement immediately.

We will attempt to contact you if we receive your package as undelivered, if we are unable to reach you, we will process a refund (excluding delivery charges). None of the above information or conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer when goods are supplied faulty, or not as described.

Returns

If you are not completely happy with your purchase you can return your order to us in a resalable condition within 14 days of purchase.

Returns must be securely packaged and arrive safely to our warehouse in a resalable condition. We aim to provide a hassle-free way to return your purchase. You must return the same number of magnets which you purchased. You will be contacted as soon as we receive your returned order and we will work as quickly as possible to issue a refund to the original method of payment. We try to issue refunds on the day of receiving your order, although sometimes it may take between 3 - 5 working days. Please note we do not offer refunds on postal charges.

On the unlikely chance you receive a faulty or damaged product, please contact us and we will send out a replacement upon receiving photo based evidence. We do not accept responsibility for returns lost or damaged in transit so please keep your proof of postage. If you are unable to provide proof of postage and the item does not arrive the refund can be refused.

Important Notice - Returning Strong Magnets

We package strong magnets so there is a large gap from the magnet which prevents the parcel from sticking to metal surfaces during transit. We would strongly recommend reusing the original packaging for returns, to protect the product itself and anything around it.

We also recommend that you send the item back using a traceable service such as Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. We can’t be held responsible for returns lost in transit. If a magnet is insufficiently packaged, it may attract to ferrous materials and becoming removed from the packaging; potentially causing delays in delivery.

Health and Safety

Should children use strong magnets?

Parents, teachers or guardians must watch over kids and they must always be supervised when they play or experiment with magnets. Neodymium magnets are really strong so caution is required. If you suspect your child has swallowed a magnet it is important to seek the attention of a doctor immediately. We do not recommend children using neodymium magnets without the supervision of a responsible adult.

Can a magnet adversely affect my smartphone?

Many experts claim small to medium sized magnets does not have any unwanted effects on your smartphone or tablets. Most of devices, especially smart phones and computers, have small magnets inside of them to perform specific functions. However, since large magnets have such a strong magnetic field it is advised to keep them away from your devices.

Technical Information

How are magnets made?

Various types of permanent magnets are made in different ways, but each includes a process of casting, pressing, sintering, compression bonding, injection molding, extrusion and calendaring to ensure quality and strength of every individual magnet.

How do these magnets work?

There are many explanations to this question, but one of the most profound ones relate to the magnet’s atomic structure. All ferromagnetic materials produce a magnetic field which is very weak. This is generated by the electrons which surround the nuclei of its atoms. These group of atoms are oriented in the same direction and each of these groups are known as a single magnetic domain.

Is it possible to block/shield magnetic fields?

The magnetic fields penetrate through plastics, aluminum, wood, and even lead just as if it were not there. No material blocks magnetism. Metals that are ferrous, such as iron, nickel or steel can help conduct magnetic fields and magnetism. All magnetic fields search for the shortest route from north to south and a piece of steel can provide a link that makes the journey from north to south far much easier to flow than through the air

Performance

How possible is it to increase the strength of my magnet?

Once a magnet is completely magnetized, one cannot make it any more powerful since it is already completely ‘saturated’. Adding one magnet to another, such as stacking them, would mean the stacked magnets work as a large magnet and exercise a stronger magnetic power. However, individual magnets cannot be enhanced further.

How durable are neodymium magnets?

Permanent magnets are known to retain their magnetism for many years when maintained and used in optimal working conditions. For example, it is estimated that a neodymium magnet loses 5% of its magnetism for every 100 years. However, neodymium magnets are known for being very fragile, so it is always a safe bet to avoid clashing magnets together as they may chip.
