Item:133223154240A rare antique clock in remarkably fine original condition, complete with key and carrying case! The Paris store of prestigious jeweler John Bennett was open for only a few years after 1889, when the company reorganized and incorporated. This elegant brass and beveled glass case is an attractive variant of the classic French cannelée form. The clock was most likely a special order, with enhanced case details. Notably, the handle treatment, crisply chamfered corners, abbreviated feet and solid brass rear door. The eight-day timepiece is fitted with the highest grade 11-jewel silvered platform, visible through the top glass. The platform incorporates a bimetallic balance and lever escapement, ensuring accurate timekeeping. In 2018, the clock movement and platform were completely disassembled by a European trained master horologist; ultrasonically cleaned, hand buffed, and lubricated with Swiss oils and mainspring grease. The case was sensitively polished. This caliber of restoration would cost $450.00 to the public. Offered in fine running order, ready to give the new owner reliable service. Dimensions: 6.75“ high with the handle raised 3.5” wide x 3.25“ deep. Conscientiously packed for safe transit worldwide.Condition:Used
