Superb Antique Corniche Cased French Carriage Clock Fully Serviced August 2017

This clock has recently been serviced to prepare it for sale. The current service included a complete strip down of the movement for cleaning and oiling and the case has simply been given a light polish and a coating of wax to retard future tarnishing.

Every single component of the movement was originally cleaned by hand to include the mainspring which was also removed from its barrel.

The original silvered fully compensated lever arm platform escapement was also dismantled, cleaned and rebuilt with the appropriate fine oil. The lever arm Escapement said were only used on the finest timepieces due to their improved timekeeping when compared to the basic cylinder escapements.

As can be seen from the listed photos the beautiful original enamel on copper dial and deep blued steel spade style hands are in immaculate undamaged condition.

The stunning cast brass Corniche style case was dismantled for cleaning and given a light polish prior to a coat of wax. Please note that this case measures 145 mm high with handle upright, 80 mm wide and 72 mm deep. Case parts are stamped with the number 131 and door closes as it should

All the deep beveled glass is in excellent condition.
