ANTIQUE INDIAn, MADRAS SOLID SILVER DECORATIVE CHARGER C.1890
Highly decorative 19th Century Indian solid silver plate of traditional design, embossed with various dancing divinities, Ganddharva, punctuated by lion heads. This is of a higher quality piece than most Madras silver. The rim of the bowl is decorated with bands of flowers and the lion's heads have been expertly executed. The plates distinctive design is typical to the region of Madras now Chennai.
Not hallmarked so I am selling as white metal but it has tested as silver. The base bears a peacock makers mark

In Great Condition - Age related marks, one small ding to the rim.
