Beautiful & extremely finely hand carved vintage bread board, with “Give Us Our Daily Bread” and pretty flowers & leaves around it’s borders .
It’s in an immaculate condition really, given it’s age.
We are unsure of its heritage as we purchased it from an antiques & collectables fair around 30 years ago.
We think it’s possibly Larch Wood as it’s not as heavy as Beech wood which is the most commonly wood used for bread boards.
It doesn’t appear to have ever been used for cutting bread, in fact you can still see the pin holes where it was held on a hand lathe.
It’s been strung with picture wire on the back (by us) - as it’s sat on our farmhouse kitchen wall since we purchased it.
There are some other small marks near to when we’ve strung it - maybe someone else in the distant past hung it on a wall too. Please see last 2 photographs.
I’m only selling it now to fund other projects, as I truly love it - we’ve never seen one as fine as this ever.
It measures 30 cm or 11.5 inches in diameter.
Please study all of the photographs as they form part of the description.
