The First World War took a terrible toll on merchantmen and warships.Many of those men had a family to support.In London far -sighted ship owners realised that a fund was needed .His majesty King George V took an interest,giving both his name and an establishing donation of £5000 to the new organisation. Over the years it has raised alot of money for disadvantaged Sailors and their families.The original name was changed in 2005 and it continues to this day to raise funds .
This Keyring -fob is in excellent vintage new condition and features G Crown R and King Georges fund for sailors and flags embossed in gold in the navy faux leather fob .The keyring has is a metal split ring . Thank you for looking.
