Seller: timerunner56 (958) 100%, Location: Bournemouth, Dorset, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 293231178833 Top Quality Antique Brass English 8 Day Grandfather/Longcase Clock Movement DialNice top quality brass grandfather clock dial and 8 day movement. This English movement is signed 'Wm Rider, London' on the chapter ring. Dating I think from around the early part of the 18th century it would have certainly come from a clock case of some distinction. The dial is 12in square and is decorated in each corner by two cherubs holding a regal crown. The centre of the dial is matted and the chapter ring is beautifully engraved. The ringed winding holes are nice as are the nicely detailed dial hands, however one may be a replacement. The movement has its seat board and its bell which rings well and true. The pillars are nicely ringed also as you would expect on an early London movement of this quality. This two pulley movement is dusty and dirty but not rusty. This clock has not been tested so may well run with a good clean and service. A delightful quality early London 8 day movement which are hard to find, especially in this condition, and is sold as seen for restoration with no return.
