Seller: lawdy-momma-vintage (1,210) 99.1%, Location: Horncastle, Ships to: Free Local Pickup, Item: 283677843538 Stunning, Oak splayed A-frame Hallrobe attributed to Liberty's circa 1900. In the style of Gustav Stickney or early Lee, Longlands & co. Genuine ARTS & CRAFTS piece which I purchased from a large country house from a life-long collector of such pieces. This lady was looking to downsize, so selling most of her collection all of which were proven to be genuine. Sadly this piece has had the lock removed to be repaired. It was then subsequently lost. This lock would have potentially had the Liberty / makers marks. A beautiful piece, absolutely solid in construction and very heavy. The splayed shape is typical of the top Liberty's designers of the time. Remodelling of my house means that sadly I have nowhere to put it which does it justice and its kept in a storage room....such a waste. Partially glazed with bottle glass panels, art nouveau embossed decorative copper and internal hanging furniture. There are a few minor issues but is it completely usable and looks wonderful as is. As stated the lock is missing. There are also some screw holes in the top panel suggesting that there was perhaps a top box at some point. There are minor signs of age related wear. There are a couple of wood separations / splits. I had a local verbal quotes from a furniture restorer to address the issues photographed. This was in the region of £140. Please study the photos carefully as these make up part of the description. Recently valued by an auction house in Newark. Restoration costs included would still bring the price under it's lowest estimate. Sensible offers welcome. Any money raised from the sale of my items go to save or better the lives of street dogs and strays. It pays for food, vet care and release fees from high kill shelters plus transport to safety.
