Seller: triflingwithafataldart (1,073) 100%, Location: Corbridge, Northumberland, Ships to: GB, Item: 113721306166 VINTAGE Late 19th/Early 20th Century Heavy Brass Clock French Make 12432Includes winding key.Unfortunately, the ceramic clock face is completely cracked horizontally where the clock pointers join (it was like this when purchased many years ago) - however, the scenes on the ceramic clock face of flowers, doves and cherubs are delicately coloured and very pretty. Surrounding the little scenes there are embellishments that appear to have been hand-created. The ceramic face of the clock has the most unusual "petrol" shimmer to it. The bottom part of the clock face has the word 'collot' in the bottom right hand corner (see picture) - Collot was a French ceramic artist for the Sevres porcelain company and worked extensively during the late 19th/early 20th century. The champlevé enamel work is rubbed away in places, especially on the left hand side near the top of the clock where it would seem that someone has regularly held the clock by this corner, inevitably causing the rubbing away of the enamel. Intriguingly, on the inside of the little door at the back of the clock, there are what appear to be either pawn broker's reference numbers and letters scratched into the brass, or, perhaps, repair reference numbers and letters; also, on the inner circle of the back of the clock at the top where the door closes there is a very tiny reference number. The brass case at the very top of the clock is slightly bent backwards with the adjoining champlevé doing the same. Please take a close look at the pictures as they provide the best description.Overall, a shabby little clock, with an air of mystery, in need of an overhaul, however is still very beautiful. Measures approximately 9 inches in height.Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for looking!PayPal ONLY, immediate payment required. *UK BUYERS ONLY*Sorry, no returns, sold as seen. Will post next working day - Monday~Friday - after payment received.
