Seller: timerunner56 (726) 99.2%, Location: Bournemouth, Dorset, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 291943431375 Details: Very Nice German Gothic Bracket Clock By Winterhalder & HofmeierNice early German Gothic styled bracket clock by top German clock maker 'Winterhalder and Hoffmeier' thought to date from around 1880-1900. The case looks like walnut? and is very well made as you expect with acorn shaped finials, turned case gallery etc (see photos). There is two pieces of moulding missing, the first a small piece from the left side of the gallery at the top, and secondly a piece of edge moulding from the top on the left side of the case as you look at it, while there is a small split to the bottom panel (see photos), all of which is expected on a clock over 100 years old. The dial is very good with original hands which look 'blued', while the silvered chapter ring is nicely engraved with Roman numerals and markers. The centre of the dial is matted and the spandrels are finely detailed while there is a plaque under the number '12' with the retailers name 'A. Shuker, Birmingham'. The glass covering the dial is good. The rear door is nicely fretted out and in good shape and would have had a piece of silk behind it originally. The movement is signed 'W.H, Sch' and is working and striking well while the springs are also good. Although working and pretty clean this clock is sold as seen and offered for restoration with no guarantee. Once serviced it will be a very fine clock by one of the top German makers.Postal costs refer to UK mainland addressesHappy to answer any questions, either via message or phone ( 07761 432112 ) Terms and ConditionsAll my items are sold for restoration and consequently sold as seen without a guarantee.
