This lovely desk has been in my family for over 150 years, and selling now along with an antique Windsor comb-back chair (see my other listing) The rectangular top decorated with oyster veneer in quarters, enclosed by featherbanding and perimeter crossbanding, the molded edge with re-entrant corners above a long frieze drawer opening and dropping to reveal a writing surface and row of fitted interior drawers, over a shaped apron-fronted "secret" drawer, above a recessed cupboard door flanked by columns of three feather- and cross-banded drawers, all original brass hardware, raised on a bracket foot base. With working key for front draws.
