This is a really lovely Victoria Automatic Knitter in full working condition with loads of accessories - some original and some new bits that I've added in because I find them useful when using my own circular sock knitting machine. A quick bit about me - I have a machine of my own so I know a reasonable amount about what I'm selling and what it should do, so please feel free to contact me with any questions or anything you particularly want me to test on it for you. I am reasonably competent in the basics of using a sock knitter, but have not learnt how to rib yet, so although I've tested this and got it up and running my only attempt at ribbing ended up in a bit of a mess (I think my tension was all wrong). Now that's out of the way, let me tell you about what I'm selling here... The Victoria Automatic "Improved Knitting Machine" on its original stand, with two sizes of cylinder with associated ribbers and the correct brass rings to attach to the machine Good condition except for a crack in the handle, which is not uncommon in these old machines. Fully working - ready to just take home and start knitting. - Original cast iron stand - I cleaned this down and gave it a fresh coat of metal paint - Yarn mast including heel spring - 84 needle cylinder  - 42 needle ribber dial - brass ring to attach to machine - 72 needle cylinder - 36 needle ribber dial - brass ring to attach to machine - Original metal buckle for attaching weights, plus 3 plastic tarpaulin clips because I find them easier to use for this purpose - Original heel fork - one hook is snapped off, but with a pair of pliers you could rebend the end to make it work again. Plus I've put in two modern claw weight hangers because I prefer using those for heels to the original-style heel forks - Original metal cast on basket, plus I used the machine to knit cast on bonnets for each cylinder - much easier to use and it proves it works :-) - Two weight hangers and a pile of weights - Oil can, spanner, two screw drivers, plus two random bits of wood that I don't know what they are for! - Cone winder attachment, plus unidentified machine attachment and wing nut, and metal wire strappy bit. There's no drive belt and I'm not sure if the wire is meant for this purpose. I've never had cause to use one of these type of cone winders so I'm a bit lost on that! - two hooks - one might be original or might be a button hook someone just added in - the second is a 1950s Knitmaster latch hook tool that I've added in because I find them invaluable for these machines - Needles - this machine uses different needle types for each cylinder. All the needles that come with it are old but I cleaned them and oiled the latches and I've had no problems using them. In total there are 97 needles for the large cylinder and 75 for the small cylinder. Plus two sizes of ribber needle - 47 of the smaller size and 45 of the larger size (sorry I don't know which set goes with which ribber dial). - Original instruction book - I will also throw in a couple of cones of machine knitting wool to get you started, if you like. (not pictured) Please contact me with any questions you have, I know it's horribly expensive so I want to make sure you have all the info you need before stumping up that kind of money. This is COLLECTION ONLY. Please don't ask about couriers because there's no way I'm putting something this heavy, delicate and valuable in the post or with couriers. Location is Letchworth Garden City, about 40 miles north of London, very close to junction 9 of the A1. No Buy It Now price, this is auction only. Please look at my other auctions for some rare patterns for written for this machine and for the Harrison.
