Item:274061762150Up for sale is this Clock face and movement in excellent condition. Quality fusee movement cleaned, lubricated and operational on test.It comes with good shaped period hands.Movement is a heavy high quality 8 - day chain driven single fusee and it is marked to the heavy metal cream dial.Probably from the late 1800s, and has nicely shaped pillars reminiscent of that period. The movement has a London address stamped on one of the plates with the year 1885.The Wandsworth address does exist now and Windsor Street actually appears on 19th century London maps. The dial, which is matched to the movement, has a good aged look with signs of some repainting. It is in a very good condition with its nice bold black Roman numerals which complement the black period hands.A suitable key is provided. One for the enthusiast, even as spares would be worth it, but this one is fully operational. The dial has a diameter of 35 cm and the movement has a depth of 9 cm. Please note that all measurements are approximate.
