Description
A late Victorian silver plated Writing Etui Tool Set with Travelling Inkwell. The outer casing has a spiral fluted design. The hinged hook over the top releases the lid to the inkwell. Inside the lid is a glass ink bottle that is slightly sprung so that when the lid is replaced and the hook is pulled over the bottle it is sealed by an interior stopper. The whole top section pulls off to reveal a storage compartment for a dip pen, a pencil and a sharpener. The pencil and dip pen pull out and when reversed fit back into their holders to make a full size tool. The tools have matching spiral fluted handles. The item is c1900. The lid stamped - D.R.G.M.
