This is a lovely vintage ceramic jug from Babbacombe Pottery, Torquay, Devon. Its capacity is 1 pint (0.5 litre).
It is hand-painted in the pottery's distinctive broad-brush style with bands of mid-browns and greens and stylised flowers. The jug has the circular printed pottery backstamp on the base.
It is 4½" (11.5 cm) tall and 5⅜" (13.75 cm) wide including spout and handle. It weighs 256 g.
It is in good vintage condition with no obvious crazing to the glaze. There are only a couple of minor points to mention for accuracy. It has several tiny nicks to the brown glaze at the rim and a small 3 mm firing stress mark at the side of the spout. The jug is clean and ready to use. Please refer to the photographs.
