I believe this is Hamilton Laidlaw Glasgow SILVERPLATE. It’s definitely English/Scottish made. I have the original receipt when I purchased it in the early 1980’s in the famous SIlver Vaults of London, Vault 21. Google London Silver Vaults what they are if you’re not familiar with the place. It’s underground in the London banking district and its a basement full of bank vaults. Row after row. Similar to a flea market except no tables but businesses inside these small vaults used as petite stores. Only the best silver or collectible quality items are sold there. It’s an amazing place I highly recommend if you ever visit London. I purchased this or my husband did with me that’s his name on the receipt. I may have used it once as I had a second set with pearl handles. It was probably a wedding gift and at the time sold out of “High street Store”. And to make it unique when your purchased it you could add a tooled pattern onto the set. This way your wedding/anniversary gift would be customized. A fish set is used when a filet of fish is served and its a refined way to separate the fish meat from the bones and skin by sliding the knife gently thru the filet depending if you have a whole fish or just a side filet. You would use this during the fish course. I love the English traditions. Anyways, this is probably only been used a couple of times. I used it maybe once. Hope you enjoy this great cutlery collection. The box packed weighs 5.10 ounces as the wood box is quite heavy.
