This is an antique Silver Plated Cake Basket by Philip Ashberry & Sons Sheffield c.1870-80.  Pierced ornate handle sits above a beautifully engraved centre.  Silver plated on Britannia metal, the base incorporating the Britannia trade mark.  Also numbered 771 on the base.  Diameter 28 cm.  Height with handle raised 24 cm.  Original silver plating excellent.
