Seller: rivetandbeamltd (728) 100%, Location: Exeter, Ships to: GB & many other countries, Item: 202746083829 Vintage Seiko Double Sided Ship's Clock - Copper Leaf Original large vintage double-sided triangular cargo ship's clock, circa 1970s. These were originally slave clocks and were all connected to the the master clock in the captain’s cabin so that he could change the time of every clock on board as the boat entered a new time zone. These are now extremely rare and difficult to get hold of, at the time of writing we don’t expect to be able to procure any more of these beautiful timepieces. A substantial and unusual clock with an air of Art Deco styling that works so well with many interior styles. We’ve decided to do a very limited edition run of these great clocks and by that we mean two or three! These have been hand finished in a beautiful genuine copper leaf which has a lovely texture and slightly distressed feel to it’s surface. The clock is then sealed with a clear acrylic coating to protect the surface from tarnishing. A small knob on the longest side of the triangular face turns to allow both clock faces to open out like a pair of wings, providing access to the clock mechanisms. Originally run on the ship's mains electric which are incompatible with domestic systems, we have converted these to run on two reliable AA battery powered silent quartz mechanisms. Dimensions - Height 27cm Width 23cm Depth 33cm (From Wall) Backplate 23cm x 18 cm Weight - 5kg Runs on 2 x AA Batteries (not included) Please visit our profile page on ebay for more information and special offers from Rivet and Beam Ltd. We always endeavour to ship within two days of an order being placed. Certain lights however are refurbished to order and or may require extra modifications or accessories fitted at the buyer's request before they can be shipped, which may delay shipment. Please be aware that when you are purchasing a vintage or antique item that there may be age related signs of cosmetic wear in the form of chips, dents and marks. We believe that it is this time worn condition that gives an item it’s unique beauty and that the patina reveals the wear and history of an object, often providing hints as to it’s industrial past and contributing to it’s authenticity. We will always endeavour to photograph our items accurately so please refer to them, as they are the best indication of condition. However when we have a quantity of an item it is unrealistic to photograph each item individually and there may be slight variations in condition and colour. We would never attempt to sell an item in a condition that we weren’t personally happy with or wouldn’t display in our own homes but equally we understand that descriptions are open to interpretation so please contact us if you have any specific concerns.
