Art Deco eraheavy silver-pated, on brass, three-piece, (circa 1940) tea set by Yeomans ofEngland, Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, England. This set is a typical Art Decoera plain design, and a repousse (relief) finish in a series of hexagons. Allpieces sit on four legs. This heavy silver-plated teaset is stamped with makers marks. Yeomans, silver-plated on brass, made in England/This set is Circa 1940s(date not guaranteed).
Repoussé,method of decorating metals in which parts of the design are raised in relieffrom the back or the inside of the article by means of hammers and punches.
Theset consists of a teapot, creamer, and sugar bowl. The teapot is 130 mm. highand 260 mm. from handle to spout, the creamer is 65 mm, high and 150 mm. fromhandle to spout, the sugar bowl is 65 mm., high and 100 mm., in diameter, (Alldimensions are approximate), the approximate weights are, teapot,489 grams,creamer, 128grams, sugar bowl, 101 grams. The handle and finial are made ofBakelite/composite material and are in good condition.

This heavy, silver-plated teaset was pre-owned, in excellent condition, (looks unused), does not have anyplate loss, deep scratches or gouges. It does surface scratches commensuratewith usage & wear. The tea pot hinge is in good order and the lid fitsproperly. Seller’s ref. No. W104
