Wonderful elephant (trunk down-represents wisdom and knowledge, the ability to overcome obstacles) paperweight. Color is just beautiful. Production of the elephant was during the 1970s, making this a vintage piece.

Wedgwood Glass made five colors; Amethyst, Green, Blue, Topaz, and clear. This piece was made with Amethyst. Amethyst color is created when manganese is added to the molten clear glass and will range from pale lavender to almost black.
Ronald Stennett-Wilson and Paul Miller have been attributed to the elephant pattern design (see overview in photos).
The piece is etched with the Wedgwood mark, and it has the original sticker.
