William Greagsbey was born in 1684 and died 1760. He had a number of jobs in Lamberhurst. He is not listed in the book of Kent Clock makers and this may be the only clock he made. A very rare item. The clock dates from about 1730 or earlier. This is a posted movement, striking the hours on a bell. The dial is a little gappy in the case and the case may not be the original, dating from about 1800. The movement has been restored and it runs for the duration.
