Seller: battles-past (87) 100%, Location: London, Ships to: GB, Item: 182895786245 For sale, five relic items from the battle site of Isandlwana 22nd January 1879. some of these items were purchased from locals during my first trip to the site in 1984 and the rest in 1990 from the tour guide Mr Ted Brown with whom I did two tours in the late 80s, They are one very nice example of a .450in used Boxer case for the Martini or Swinburne Henry the only difference is the load, in the Swinburne and Martini carbine variants it was reduced to 70 grains of black powder and a bullet weight of 410 as opposed to 85 grains and a bullet weight of 480 in the standard round, both the Swinburne & Martini carbines could fire the standard round but the excessive recoil felt by the firer was both painful and reduced accuracy. One general service tunic button a bit battered but in good relic condition. A brass belt fitting. One tent fastening hook One grommet from a tent or canvas sheet. The relics are mounted on red baize in a small glass fronted frame and are ready to display.the relics come with a letter of authenticity and copies of my correspondence with Ted Brown. See photo's and feel free to ask any questions . I have been collecting battlefield relics and militaria for over fifty years and I am now downsizing a very large collection from many different battle sites due to retirement and a move to warmer climes, most will be sold privately but some I have been putting on ebay this gives other collectors a chance to buy what are now becoming rare and hard to find items . I do not sell repro or fake items, not even ww1 relics dressed up and re labelled as something else IE Zulu war relics, have a good look at what you are buying or bidding on before parting with your money its to easy to get lumbered with fakes, I got stung twice when I first started collecting roman items, I am open to any questions on Zulu war relics being sold on ebay particularly my own so don't be shy ask questions. The photo's form part of my description. None of my relic items contravene any act's or laws pertaining to the sale or use of dangerous weapons or any illegal or banned items, all of my items are in relic condition and have been made inert through time and/or deliberate action and are unusable. Condition: Used, Condition: ALL ITEMS ARE OVER 137 YEARS OLD AND ARE IN RELIC CONDITION, ALL OF THE ITEMS BEING SOLD WERE PURCHASED OR FOUND IN THE 1980'S LONG BEFORE DOING SO WAS BANNED NONE OF THE RELIC ITEMS FOR SALE CONTRAVENE ANY ACTS OR LAWS PERTAINING TO EDGED WEPONS OR FIREARMS, ALL RELIC ITEMS ARE INERT AND UNUSABLE FOR THERE ORIGINAL PURPOSE., Type: Field Gear, Issued/ Not-Issued: Issued, Era: 1816-1913, Service: Army, Conflict: ZULU WAR, Country/ Organization: Great Britain, Country/Region of Manufacture: United Kingdom
