Mandrel Cone 1 1/4" Hardy
A cone (or mandrel) is for hammering barstock into perfect conical rings or scroll shapes. It sits in the anvils' hardy hole vertically and has a purpose similar to the round horn on an blacksmith anvil; but more consistent round shapes can be created with the help of this tool. In years past mandrel's were used to make bindings for wheel hubs and circular objects such as nose rings for oxen.
Mandrels come in sizes from a couple inches high to ones so tall they are called floor mandrels.
This mandrel is smooth and very clean on all sides. Id does not contain a "tong" groove.
Weight: 14 lbs
We also offer a 1" Mandrel.
