1930s Art Deco double bedstead with original sprung base ( see photograph of Staples & Co Ltd on frame). In good original condition but would benefit from being cleaned and waxed or could be stripped and refinished as there is some fading of the veneer due to sunlight exposure to the furniture and the black painted detail could also benefit from being touched up here and there.There is registered design number on the furniture and I have researched this with the National Archives in Kew. The design of this furniture was registered in 1930 by D M Gilbert & Co Ltd of London (Furniture Importers) and I can supply a photocopy of the photographs held by the National Archives if this is of interest on reques.
